Title Page Extension Activity

Activity 2:  Understanding Layers

We’re going to start with the basics. Understanding Layers!!  This is so important for working in Photoshop.  Open the link to the following tutorial, and work through this at your own pace.  You can then start on your title page exercise.

Title Page Task

For our first task, you will be creating a digital title page for Photography/Media.

This task will develop your skills in using Text Effects. If you already have a basic knowledge of Photoshop, you may want to try something a little more challenging like using layers to give more textured effects.

Your title page must include:
Heading:  Year 9 Photography
  1. Your Name
  2. Year and Semester

We start with the basics as a class – but you can then get creative and challenge yourself according to your skill level.

Save your final task as both a PSD and JPEG file in your D:// clearly labeled lastname_ TASK 1_ Titlepage

Now it’s time to get creative!!

Create your own title page using the skills you have just learnt or by finding some new ones.

You may want to refer to these tutorials:

Carbon fibre effect:

Wood texture effect

Note: You may like to research and find different wood textures to use for a slightly different effect.

Search for "wood texture" on Google Images.
